Shofukan offers a wide variety of ‘aoishi,’ or green schist, from Shikoku. They have a very natural greenish colour, especially when wet. These stones are often seen in traditional Japanese gardens – especially the famous tea gardens (roji or chaniwa) in Kyoto, because of their beautiful colour and because the moss grows quite easily on these stones. Over time they get an interesting patina. Originating from a special layer of schist that extends from Shikoku into the Himalayas, they have never before been exported from Japan.

Selections have been made in small, medium, and large size ranges.
